PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Château des Jacques is located in Moulin-à-Vent in the north of Beaujolais producing red and white wines from Gamay and Chardonnay. The château has been owned by Maison Louis Jadot since 1996 and is widely recognized for its range of Beaujolais cru wines.
Moulin-a-Vent is arguably the most noteworthy of the ten Beaujolais crus. Its wine made from the Gamay grape variety are known for being some of the most concentrated and tannic made in Beaujolais. The Clos du grand Carquelin faces a little bit more towards the south and offers a different personality. This Moulin-A-Vent needs two or three years to reach its harmony, and can then age comfortably for several decades.
Grape: Gamay
Sensory Notes: Nose - fruity, floral, earthy, light vanilla. Palate - Pleasant fruit freshness with licorice and dark berries. Full body, mild acidity and a nice long finish.
Food Pairing: The Clos du Grand Carquelin is a particularly complex, delicate and elegant wine. It expresses itself best when allowed to unfold in the glass, and is the perfect match for delicately flavoured dishes from sweet-and-sour salmon to beef stroganoff.
